White corundum for sand blasting aluminum core castings

White corundum for sand blasting aluminum core castings, has high hardness (Mohs hardness 9) and strong wear resistance, quickly removing rust, scale, and burrs from aluminum core castings. It is particularly suitable for surface treatment of hard materials such as metals and alloys. Its high purity and excellent self-sharpening properties provide a consistent surface roughness after sandblasting, enhancing the adhesion of subsequent coatings or electroplating.

White corundum for sand blasting aluminum core castings

White corundum can be used for sandblasting aluminum core castings.

WFA has high hardness (Mohs hardness 9) and strong wear resistance, quickly removing rust, scale, and burrs from aluminum core castings. It is particularly suitable for surface treatment of hard materials such as metals and alloys. Its high purity and excellent self-sharpening properties provide a consistent surface roughness after sandblasting, enhancing the adhesion of subsequent coatings or electroplating.

High Efficiency: Low heat generation and high efficiency make it suitable for high-frequency, high-volume operations.

Environmental Benefits: Contains no free silica and can be recycled 5-8 times, reducing waste emissions.

Wide Application: In addition to aluminum, it is also suitable for metal materials such as stainless steel and high-speed steel, as well as non-metallic materials such as glass and ceramics.

Before sandblasting, inspect the casting surface for cracks or weak spots to avoid damage caused by excessive abrasion. ‌

Grit size selection should be based on specific needs (e.g., 100 mesh, 120 mesh, etc.). Too fine a particle size will affect roughness, while too coarse a particle size may damage the surface. ‌ In summary, white corundum can ensure effective treatment while meeting environmental requirements when sandblasting aluminum core castings.

Description:

White corundum uses high-quality alumina powder as raw material, smelted in an arc furnace at a high temperature of 2200 degrees to fully melt it, and then cooled naturally or cooled by water to fully crystallize the smelted alumina liquid. After the alumina powder is fully smelted, crystallized and cooled, it becomes the original block of white corundum. After the original block of WFA grit is crushed by a jaw crusher, it is deeply screened in a five-screen vibrating screen in strict accordance with industry standards to obtain white corundum sand of different sizes. The proportion of basic particles and mixed particles in our factory’s particle size sand far exceeds the national standard, the particle size is more concentrated, and the use effect is better.

The Al2O3 content of white corundum is greater than 99%, and its hardness is higher than that of brown fused alumina, but its toughness is not as good as that of brown corundum. The Fe2O3 content of WFA grit is very low, which is suitable for sandblasting operations where iron residue is strictly prohibited. At the same time, the material of white corundum is relatively hard, which is suitable for sandblasting with most sandblasting machines. It is also used as grinding and polishing materials, precision casting sand, spraying materials, chemical catalyst carriers, functional ceramics, refractory materials, etc.
